Baby Update

I had a follow-up visit to Maternal Fetal today. They were able to get some good views of the baby's heart, growth and blood flow in the brain. Everything looked really great and she is growing right on target. She was moving around like crazy and at one point had both of her legs up by her face, in pike position. Sounds really comfortable. The technician said actually I have a long torso and the baby was just able to stretch out her legs and arms really well. Anyways it made for an interesting picture profile with her long leg right above her head. She was also sucking on her fingers. So cute. Everything is going well and I am feeling really good right now. I'm not sure how long that will last as I have to travel into the depths of hot humid summer with the pregnancy. Let's just say, this big bellied momma will be hanging out at the pool most days.

We tried the new "sand and water" table sans the sand. Not sure what Silas would do with that and brought the new sink outside as well. Silas and Naomi love to play with them together.

Easter

We had a great Easter and spring break with the kids. The weather actually warmed up and on the hottest day of the year, we were inside swimming at an indoor waterpark. Since we were home this year for spring break we went up to Chicago and stayed for a night at a hotel with an indoor waterpark/arcade. The kids had a lot of fun swimming, eating lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and the next day we visitted the Shedd Aquarium. Unbeknowest to us, the best part of the place was closed for work, so we missed out on the dolphins, whales and penguins. We breezed through the place pretty fast but also enjoyed a 4D movie with effects such as spraying water and rods pocking you in your back. Naomi wasn't so sure about it. The kids always love the annual Easter Egg hunt and collect all their goodies so I can pack them away in hiding. The other day Oliver asked me where is bag was, I honestly didn't know, but must admit I found it tonite. Thanks Ollie, those snickers were good. :) Every year, I think the meaning of Easter sinks in more personally to our children. It is neat to see them grow in their knowledge of Christ.

Great Toy Alert

So we have been able to try out a couple of Naomi's new toys. First, Naomi has been asking for weeks, when can we plant flowers. It seems that every time I give thought to picking up some pansies to plant, there is snow in the forecast. Not that they couldn't survive through it, but just puts a mild damper on the whole trying to get into the "spring" of the things. So after Naomi got a pair of garden gloves and tools for her birthday I decided we were going to plant "by golly". So here are some pictures of her helping me.

The other set of pictures is of an awesome Step 2 toy that Naomi got from Grandma S. We finally set it up today and you would of thought we were at a waterpark, for the sheer joy and screams of excitement coming out of them as well as the vast amounts of water on them and everywhere within 10 feet. It has a button that activates a pump that recirculates the water in the tub. So no worries, they will be no overflows other than the water that is actually dumped out of the sink by the scoops provided. We laid a bunch of towels down to soak up the water and make it less slippery. The pump actually shuts off automatically after 5 minutes. Hey what else are supposed to do on a rainy, freezing first day of spring break. Silas loved it getting thoroughly soaked, Naomi spent most of the afternoon bathing her barbie princesses and even Oliver, my nearly 7 year got in on the action. I am sure it will be even more fun, when it is actually hot out. And when will that be, by the way?

Birthday continued, parties

We celebrated Naomi's birthday with both of our families last weekend. On Saturday night we were with my family and Naomi and cousin Sophie had a party together. Naomi got some awesome things, a Thumbelina movie, beautiful dress my mom made, two gorgeous bracelets my sister made and ariel which she carries everywhere. She wanted a my little pony cake, so I did my best to free hand one for her and it turned out pretty small, so I added a rainbow as well.

On Sunday we were at Ab and Jeff's celebrating Easter and Naomi's birthday. The kids had a great time decorating eggs, finding eggs and baskets, smashing the pinata and once again Naomi got some great things. She got a camera which she has been taking random pics with, a sink with a faucet that works both from G and G. Steffen, snow white and belle from Ann, and Todd and Nicole fam, (missed you), and some gloves and tools to plant flowers from Ab and Jeff. Naomi has been asking me when we are going to plant flowers. I have been wondering the same thing, will spring ever come? We had a really good meal, one I couldn't get my stomach to hold enough of.

They Passed!

So thanks for all of the prayers on the behalf of our cousins. Great news is that on Wednesday their documents were found and on Thursday they passed through courts. How exciting!
