Dandelions

So its spring, or so we wish, and there are dandelions pretty much everywhere you look. Yes we have them in our yard. I knew that my boys had known about my love of flowers but this afternoon, I realized Naomi is catching on too. She was taking notice as a few weeks back the boys were bringing in the darling little violets growing in our backyard. I had vases of them all over the house. Trying to do her part, she brought me in a beautiful bouquet of spent dandelions. Not quite the most beautiful thing you ever saw but definately the sweetest. Here mom, she said, as she handed me what she thought was a wonderful collection of flowers from our yard. "Put these in a base. " :) It did pull at my heart strings.

Sick Day

How does one kid's sick day become everyone's sick day? Noah stayed home from school today, under the weather, and Oliver declared with a huge toothless grin, "I love being sick. You get to lay around and watch tv." This while he and Naomi finished off the soup I made for Noah. I started feeling bad about my take on recovery from sickness. Oh well, I guess it thankfully only occurs once in a while. Somehow I feel like the superbug made a permanent landing out our house this winter. Can't wait till it's gone for good. Some pics of the kids enjoying Tom and Jerry, Silas going to sleep in his swing, and one of Naomi taking a nap the only way she does lately, once in a blue moon, while watching a cartoon. Update on Silas. At his 2 month checkup he topped the charts at a whopping 16 lbs 2 oz. 95 % bigger than other babies his age, and 90% for height. He is growing some great cheeks and is so squeezeable. I love it.

Let the games begin

The boys had their first games of the summer this eve. Tom's family was out to the ball field to ring in the baseball season. The boys couldn't have been prouder to have an audience. Even Silas was up to take a peek at his big brothers' fun. All the kids made there usual trip to the concession stand with grandpa for treats. And Oliver had his taste of the Kaufman cheers and embarrassing sign waving. It was a fun evening and great to have Ann to join in with all of our midwestern excitement.
